Our Story
Growing living sprouts and microgreens since 1978.
From a Miami family business to Cookeville, Tennessee
What began in 1978 as a small family sprout business in Miami has grown into one of the nation’s leading producers of fresh, hydroponically grown sprouts and microgreens.
In 2023, Fullei Fresh moved its brand and operations to Cookeville, Tennessee, home of our sister company International Specialty Supply, a sprouting seed and equipment company founded in Cookeville in 1979. Today we grow sprouts, microgreens and living salads year-round using indoor hydroponic growing, without pesticides or preservatives.
Driven by innovation and guided by care for people and the planet, we are proud to bring you tiny greens with big flavor.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I eat sprouts?
Sprouts can be enjoyed in many delicious and creative ways. Add them raw to salads, wraps and sandwiches, blend them into smoothies, or lightly cook them by steaming or stir-frying. Keep them refrigerated to maintain their quality and freshness.
How do I store sprouts?
All sprouts should be refrigerated, ideally between 36 and 40 degrees. If they get too warm, they will decay. If they get too cold, they will ice up and freeze. Wheatgrass can be left out, but that will shorten its shelf life. There is no need to water them.
How do I know if the sprouts are old?
Our sprouts are free of preservatives, pesticides and additives. Bean and soy sprouts are old when they turn brown or slimy. Green sprouts are old when the roots turn brown. Discard them if they become wet and soggy. For the Crunchy Mix, they are old if the tails growing out of the beans become very long or brown.
What are the dates on the package?
Our sprouts are delivered at their peak and clearly marked with a best-before date. Fresh sprouts should be crisp, bright and mild in aroma. If they appear slimy, unusually soft, discolored, or have a strong odor, they should not be eaten.
Where can I buy fresh sprouts?
Fullei Fresh sprouts are available at many retail grocery stores in the Eastern United States, as well as through a wide network of foodservice distributors. See our Where to Buy page, or check with your local grocery store or distributor.
Why don’t my home-grown sprouts look like Fullei Fresh sprouts?
Most of the difference comes down to growing conditions. Even though sprouts are grown indoors, many variables affect how they look and taste, including water quality, water temperature, room temperature, humidity, air flow and lighting.
Can I get a refund?
For fresh sprouts, please take them back to the store where you bought them. In most cases we do not sell directly to individual stores or shoppers. We do our best to have our products arrive in good condition, and we stand by the products we sell directly to our customers.
